Visiting California again reminds me of how much I miss seeing mountains along the horizon.... and how much I miss having reasonable weather. So far, we've visited some wineries (getting tipsy in the middle of the day after being plied with mass quantities of wine is a bit odd), the Monterrey Aquarium (which seemed a bit less impressive than the ( Read more... )

Hee, Dinneyland...place of my youth, place of carefreeness, where all your troubles melt away until you leave the park again...

I grew up going there. I haven't been in a year and three months. That is a bit long for me. As my mom says, it's like a jewel box filled to the brim with beautiful treasures. They take such care to make everything beautiful, especially at the holidays. The gardens, the decorations...everything is always freshly painted and shiny, the way one might wish the world to be except that reality gets in the way.

It's a bit crowded, it's expensive if you don't have a cousin to get you in free and get you a 40% discount on everything...but when I was growning up, we went almost twice a month. We could catch dinner and a show, or a parade, we could go swing dancing... every day is like a holiday there.

I don't know why it's special. But it is, and it always will be.

You asked... ;)

I'm with you. The people who are out-of-state aren't from there aren't interested because they JUST DON'T KNOW. I miss Disneyland SOOO much. It's pretty much the ONLY thing I miss about so-Cal.

um, i think i go to Toyko Disney about once a year (for halloween or christmas) to see the park decorated in theme (esp with nightmare before xmas stuffs) it's certainly disturbing to see grown people (boys and girls) wearing ridiculous hats and hairpins of characters and small children prancing about in character costumes (halloween not needed for those people) i get more of a kick looking at the other people nowdays than when i was younger.

Disney land reminds me of when I was young and happy. I loved being a kid and going and when I go now it reminds me of it!
