Brainage is pretty fun. The music and wiggly little blob of jello that instructs you is quite addicting. I've heard good things about Warioware as well, and personally, though I haven't spotted a copy of it yet to nab, there is supposed to one that teaches you to cook - a collection of recipes with step-by-step instructions, videos, how-to techniques and even a shopping-list feature to use to cook actual foods. Cannot remember the name, only that it is NOT Cooking Mama.
The Ace Attorney series, four games thus far: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney; Justice for All; Trials and Tribulations; and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. A fifth game, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, comes out in the US next month. If you don't mind an unrealistic legal system ("guilty until proven innocent," for one thing), the plots are funny and well-written, and pretty challenging as well.
