I have been meaning to watch Sex in the City - the movie. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but my co-worker recommended that I see it. I have not seen any of the tv series episodes, so I had been hesitant to see the film, since I am not familiar with the characters.

In the opening voice-over style of Grey's Anatomy, SJP narrates here and there. She gives a bit of history in the beginning, and I don't feel it's necessary to have that prior knowledge. You can get a feel for the characters and their strong friendship bond anyway.
