Also: Amazon has the Watchmen TP as one of my "deals of the day," and the little blurb describing it starts out with "SOON TO BE A FEATURE FILM!" (Caps theirs.) Yeah, outdated and overexcited, much?
I have a preface, but I haven't read it yet since I'm weird, and kind of don't like to read them generally until after I read the work on its own merits, since a lot of prefaces seem to want to try to tell you what you're about to read and how to read it. Or that's the impression I get, anyhow.
We eventually learn exactly what the Agent's fate was in a later miniseries.
As for the story, the paper wasn't being untruthful; they just limited themselves to only the details that could be verified by people other than the author.
