Ninadiel and I, were driving back from Lincoln Park the other day. He was driving, and while trying to deal with the total mess that is Southfield Road at 8 mile, spotted something on the van ahead of us and said "what is thatIt took me a minute to figure out what the hell we were looking at. That reminds me of this one:

An old coworker of mine (retired in December) once told me he saw a car driving around that had had its hood ornament replaced by a bowling trophy. Honestly, I think that one's kinda cool.

well....in Missouri, vehicles are required by law to have a rear bumper. a 2x4 held in place with duct tape or bungee cords counted, so that sort of thing wasn't uncommon

That's cool in Michigan as well, even the point that a cop _recommended_ that I screw a 2x4 to the back of my truck to be legal :)

If the springs are still in reasonable shape, there's no reason it couldn't be perfectly functional. I've seen some cars with 2x8's bolted on there that looked pretty solid.

I'm impressed that he found an inverter capable of running the motor in that thing, as I'm assuming he didn't drop the big bucks on an RV style inverter.

My friends and I saw one like that in Sandusky! We laughed a lot too.

Hehe. I can't be offended at the little jab at Tennessee. Window a/c units in vans exist, more than you would think. After all, it's friggin hot here! But most set-ups don't look as "nice" as this one. Usually the vehicle is held together with duct tape and coat hangers and the a/c is coated in rust.
