Guess Hubby and I will have to pay more for health insurance again. Didn't have to pay any, employer covered it all before Obama ( Read more... )

It's so funny. Before the election I thought I was the lone one on this island. Now I'm starting to see more entries like this online. I'm with you here. No, I didn't agree with Romney on many of his views. I'm more of a middle ground kinda voter than that. But as far as the budget and economy goes... Idk, I'm just scared to be honest. I fear Obama's socialist type view. I fear big government. As someone with a disability, I fear his change in healthcare. And as someone who just graduated with a B.A. and a Master's degree and still can't find a job, I fear being unemployed for the long haul. What pisses me off too is that in all those unemployment rates, no one counts people like me - college grads who have never been employed. If we were counted, the unemployment rate would probably be double what it is now. In the end, I don't care who wins. I just want someone to fix this mess once and for all.

Sorry to jump in, but hey! *waves* I hope you guys did okay during the hurricane. We lost power for 12 days here in Nassau county, just got it back Friday night.

Kinda awesome that we share some political views in common, too. Would it be okay if I put you on the politics filter at my LJ? A lot of my flisters are huge Obama fans, so I don't like to talk politics much unless it's on filter.

What's a filter? If you wanna chat more about it, sure. I don't mind.

It's basically a custom friends group that you can make so that only certain people would see your posts. I have one for politics and a few others for certain Supernatural subjects that I know only certain people on my flist are interested in.

Awesome, I'll add ya :)

I know I'm a little late with this, but we were without power for 12 days thanks to Hurricane Sandy... just got it back the other night so I'm trying to catch up here, lol

I just want to give you big *HUGS* and say that I totally agree. I am very worried about all the same things. I lost my job under Obama too, might eventually get hired at the place where I'm interning, but it's still a big "maybe" (which will probably become bigger or lean more toward "no" now).

Practically everyone on my flist, even the overseas people, are all ecstatic about this, so it's good to see someone who feels more like I do. Really unhappy about the outcome of this election. :(

I'm glad your state had it right. Sadly mine will never have it right. I don't think they've had it right since Reagan. *sigh*

Wow, I hope things are ok now in your area. Did you have any damage other than the electric being off? I've had electric off for something like 3 days before (which really sucks when you have well water, you have no water when the electric is off), but never THAT long. Glad you're doing ok.

Thanks. Things are finally starting to get back to normal. We had some uprooted trees in the neighborhood, but none that caused any real damage. One across from my neighbor's yard fell over and took out a telephone pole. Oh, yeah, I can imagine how awful it must be if you have well water. When my husband and I were together, we had well water so first thing we did was buy a generator in case we ended up with an outage.

Thanks hon!

Man that really sucks. I am so thankful that our power just flickered a bunch. My entire house is electric (lights, heat, stove, everything) so if the power had really gone out, we would have been in big trouble.
