Please give thanks

While your giving thanks to god and our soldiers. Please take a moment to give thanks to our police officers, fire fighters, EMTs and dispatchers who don't have the luxury to spend the day with their family, because they are helping keep you safe and are there when you call for help.

As an ambulance driver and future EMT, thanks very much for those kind thoughts. I went on two calls last night, one in which the woman might not live very long, but she would have been dead for sure if we had not gotten there when we did. I'm off today, but tomorrow from 6 am until noon, I will be rushing people to the hospital if they need it.

People never really remember the dispatchers. And they should.

You guys get us to the call, help us with directions if we need it, and give us our times if we forget to write them down. You are our lifeline in case of accident, drunken driver, or worse. You get the police there in a hurry if the patient becomes violent or someone tries to run us off the road. We couldn't do out job without you.

So thanks for all YOU do. Hope your holiday was a good one.

Yep, they help keep the chaos controlled, and save lives everyday. We take it for granted cause it's something that is always there, like a rock or tree. After awhile you don't notice or pay mind, until you need them. Then you realize how important they really are.
