How far are you through it? Still on Genesis? Struggling through Numbers? Breezing through the prophets? Laughing along with the Gospels? Already done with Revelations?

I'm going slowly so I don't miss anything. As such I'm still on Genesis. I want this to be a long process, it isn't as though I'm trying to rush through.

That's cool. Where are you in Genesis? If you'd like a study partner, I haven't read the bible through in a few years, and I'd be happy to keep up with you, especially if you're taking it slow.

It is a very well-written book. Every time I read it, I get a different philosophical meaning to most of the stories.

Right now I'm right at the begining of Jacob and Esau, when Esau decides it's a good idea to get two philistine wives. (apparently it's a bad idea)

^^;; I think I would probably rather read a plainer version first anyway, so that the connections I make are basically my own. Though, my impression of the Bible will always be influenced by the homilies I used to hear and Sunday school and whatnot.
