Just found out that my acquaintance, the abused wife, is getting a divorce.

There is much celebration, and a lot of relief among those of us in her circle that she has finally recognised that her situation is wrong.

Ok, I never thought I'd say this but, "Yay Divorce!"

Thank heavens she's getting out. Of course, statistics say she's in even more danger right now, until she finally gets him out of her life. So people should be vigilant.

Well, we also managed to convince her (or, I should say, we pointed out that HE is managing to convince her) that he's not rational at all, so she's also packing her bags and is planning on taking off "for an extended world tour" for a few months.

Oh, that's excellent. I'm so glad to hear it. Now if she can only keep herself safe, since just because he's an ex doesn't necessarily mean he's going to stop fixating on her.
