Houston, We Have Floor

The Pergo is in, and the remainders returned to the Dreaded Store of Hell. The tile was done last week. moth_001 began the baseboard while I played with (modern-day) fire. The wiring in the house is WEIRD, but the outlets seem to be normal. Thus far. We put in the first kitchen light together, a three-drop array over the sink with frosted glass shades ( Read more... )

Congratulations!

Putting in new lighting fixtures and a new thermostat was easily the scariest thing I've done in my house. The place was built in 1928 and I would not be surprised if parts of it hadn't been rewired since. But they seem to have held up okay...

It sounds like the place is coming along great! You'll have to post more pics when you get it all done.

*hugs*

It's coming. The expenses are coming to a head, too, but I remind myself that in a month's time, I will be living in my new place and my budget will settle down.

Then I'll be living on ramen, but hey, it's worth it, right? (I checked the market stats today and according to an appraiser whom I consulted, the house is worth USD$28K more than hat we bought it for, and we've only put in about USD$6K materials. We saved on labour by doing much of the work ourselves.)

Concerning "I sprained my ankle when I mistook a pallet for solid flooring", hope the sprain is not too severe. Sure glad you were not working on a skyscraper! :-P

Yes, more pics when all (well, nearly all) is finished.

Well, I'm up and moving about again, though there was a day when there was only ice and compression bandages.

The fact that I have plenty on-hand should tell you something about my ability to get into these... scrapes, as it were.

Hmmmmmmm .... so "there was a day when there was only ice and compression bandages." Was it worth all that to get out of working on the house for a day and to just sit/lie there "supervising" MOTH?
:-P

Hah. I was rolling around on the floor helping to install the Pergo. People were bringing boards to me. And handing me the mallet when I asked (nicely).
