Pausing a moment to steel herself, Rose shook her head. She wasn’t a little girl anymore. There comes a time when you have to let people go, even if it hurts. Bloody hell this hurt, but what else could she do? Break her promise to the Doctor and let this woman die because it hurt to look at her? No way. She was Rose Tyler, and she was brilliant and fantastic. The Doctor had told her so, even if she hadn't believed it at the time. Even if he didn’t love her anymore, he was still her friend, and she owed it to him to help save Reinette’s life. Awwwww Rose. So brave, so strong. *hugs her* She's so very, very selfless in this chapter even though it's breaking her heart. Beautifully written.

Thank you. :) I figured this episode was one where all of the TARDIS crew really grew up. Rose is being a mini-Doctor here, realizing that saving lives is more important than personal feelings. That and she's grown up enough to realize that Reinette's not at fault here. She wasn't exactly keeping the Doctor hostage or anything, and it was clear to Rose that Reinette loved the Doctor in return and she wasn't just going after him for a quick romp before tossing him aside.

Wow, I never thought of it that way but it totally makes sense. Rose really does seem to get the big picture here even though she doesn't like it and even though it's breaking her heart to go along with it. *hugs Rose again*. Thanks for the new insight.
