I wonder if the Sindar realised that their language had changed from Quenya to Sindarin during the 3000 years or so they were separated from the other Eldar, or if they assumed they were still speaking Quenya?

    The oldest Sindar would be complaining that young people today don't use correct grammer, use words to mean the wrong thing and have this "trendy new slang".

    Considering that Sindarin is to Quenya as Welsh is to Finnish, that's some pretty extreme slang!
