Summary: How Nino and Ohno's first seven kisses happened.
AN: I wrote this pretty quickly, after the idea came into my head and refused to go away. I did a little bit of experimenting with formatting here, which I hope works :D. Enjoy! And Happy New Year! ♥

The first time they kissed it was an accident.

“Ohno-kun, I don’t get the choreography. Could you help?”
That had been the sentence which led to it; an innocent request from Nino at the end of a rehearsal, as Jun, Sho and Aiba had made their way out of the dance studio. That had been back in the early days, when Nino and Ohno weren’t close yet, and an innocent request really was an innocent request (usually), and when Jun was still in his gawky, yet adorable stage.

Ohno had blinked before making his way back over to stand in front of Nino. “What was it that you didn’t get, Ninomiya-kun?”
“That part at the end. I get what I’m meant to do, but I can’t make it flow.”
Ten minutes later Nino had the dance perfected and they were gathering their things to go.
“Hold still.” Ohno had said as they were crouched on the floor, pulling bottles of water and towels out of bags. Nino had looked up, and Ohno’s face had been very close, and Ohno’s thumb had been brushing across his cheekbone.

Naturally, Nino had been fairly surprised, and had somehow ended up toppling forwards into Ohno, knocking them both onto the floor, Ohno beneath Nino, their lips pressed together in an accidental kiss - the type that Nino thought only ever happened in particularly cheesy dramas.
“You, uh, had an eyelash.” Ohno had said as Nino pulled away.
“Oh, well thanks for getting rid of it.”
“No problem.”

The second time they kissed only Aiba counted it as real.

It had been lunchtime, and the five of them had been eating together before dance practise picked up again. A few months had passed since that first kiss, and everyone knew each other better. Ohno and Nino had begun calling each other by nicknames and were developing a close friendship.

It had been as Nino took a sip of Ohno’s tea that Aiba’s hand had flown up to point at Nino accusatorily and he had cried “inflghemnt kgnshs!” - it was soon discovered, once Aiba had swallowed his mouthful of rice, that his exclamation had meant ‘indirect kiss’.

Nino had just shrugged and taken another sip.

The third time they kissed they were drunk.

It had been in their second year as Arashi at Nino’s house, when his family had been visiting relatives for the weekend. Nino had had to stay behind for work, and so had invited the group over in his family’s absence. Jun, Nino and Aiba had all still been underage, but none of them had ever minded that. Sho and Ohno had supplied the alcohol, and they had all sat in Nino’s living room playing video games, drinking and laughing.

By the early hours of the morning they were all well and truly drunk, and the games console had been long since abandoned. Nino and Ohno had been next to each other, and it had seemed like a good idea, so somehow their lips had ended up pressed together, tongues meeting in a sloppy, drunken kiss as the other three cheered them on.

No one remembered it the next morning.

The fourth time they kissed it was a bet.

Aiba had bet Nino a week’s worth of lunches that he wouldn’t kiss Ohno with tongues. Ohno had asked if he would get lunch too, and Aiba had agreed.

Nino had just shrugged and walked over to Ohno, placing a hand firmly on either side of Ohno’s face before leaning in and kissing him square on the mouth, his tongue taking little time to slip past Ohno’s lips.

“That’s disgusting!” Aiba had announced.

As he pulled away, Nino had just shrugged again and shot a smirk in Aiba’s direction before turning his attention back to Ohno. “Feel like getting lunch, Oh-chan? Aiba’s treat.”

The fifth time they kissed only Ohno was drunk.

Nino and Ohno had gone out drinking after a recording one day. It had been three years since the last kiss and at some point during those three years Nino had begun to develop feelings for Ohno. It had been a slow process, but as him and Ohno had become increasingly close friends, Nino had begun to like the other more and more in a romantic sense.

So, Nino hadn’t really minded hauling a positively drunk Ohno home. And when that positively drunk Ohno had hooked an arm around the back of his neck and pulled him down for a messy kiss, Nino hadn’t really minded that either.

The sixth time they kissed it was a mistake.

Over time Nino’s feelings for Ohno had only strengthened and become harder to suppress. And so one day, Nino stopped trying. It had been the middle of winter, and Nino and Ohno had gone out for a meal. It was as they stood in front of the door to Nino’s apartment, waiting to escape the cold as Nino fumbled for his keys that Ohno had huddled a little closer, for want of warmth, and Nino had decided to screw self restraint.

He had turned to face Ohno, and brushed his lips against the other man’s. The kiss had been gentle - cold, chapped lips barely touching each other - but Ohno had panicked and pushed Nino away.

Ohno didn’t sleep on Nino’s couch that night, like they had planned.

The seventh time they kissed it was right.

It had been the day after the last kiss. Nino had dragged himself out of bed at some stupid time in the morning for a photo shoot. He was still thinking that he was a bit of an idiot as he made his way into work, and figured that Ohno probably wasn’t going to want to speak to him any time soon.

When he got there Ohno had already arrived, and Nino didn’t even have the chance to process what was happening as Ohno walked over and leaned in to press their lips together.
“You don’t hate me then?”
“That’s one way of putting it.”

And then Ohno kissed Nino again.
