Reason I Like (fan)Fiction Better Than Real Life Number six:

I can cheat.  And I do, often.

I don't do this for those few authors that I really, really trust.  But I?  Like a happy ending.

Don't get me wrong.  I do love me some angst.   If an author can make me cry somewhere on that road to happiness, more power to them, and I'll enjoy the hell out of ( Read more... )

I'm cheating too. If I don't know an author I'll wait to see how the story ends. When the story interests me I'm breaking my own rule too. But even with authors you know you can get burned (if somebody stops writing and leaves you hanging by example).
I'm reading enough WIPs to take that freedom and quit some till I know what is happening. ;-)

Yes! Permanent WIP's are killer. I totally broke my rule the other day and glanced at a perm WIP. It only had two chappies, but there were so many reviews on it that I had to read it--and the thing sucked me in; now I can't stop thinking about it, lol. I also like to wait until it's finished when an author takes foorrreevver between updates, and I end up forgetting everything that happened between one chapter and the next.
