so I told him that I do not support religions, that I think all religions are institutions that support corruption and try to control people, and that I think people should think for themselves.

Good for you XD At least when he was talking to you he was busy so couldn't talk to someone else who might be more easily converted. Did you tell him that you're a scientist? I've been stopped by people and asked if I trust scientists. I'm like...well, yeah...

Well I was trying to, he attempted to illustrate a point about knowing God exists by comparing it to gravity as something you can't see but it exists and I was like, um, that's not scientific proof of God but then he seemed to think science was like a belief system! Which of course made me mad, because I am so tired of people thinking I "believe" in science or that anyone "believes" in it and I was trying to explain that it's an empirical method thats modified by peer-review so we can reduce mistakes but anyway it all got messy because, well, Hari Krishna monk. Bah. I'm getting angry all over again! :P
