according to my IQ test, i am smack on the border. actually, i'm LD by 1 point. the difference between the verbal and performance aspects of the test is 23. i'm not sure if i want to get exceptions because of being LD

Interesting that I have the exact opposite problem - I am very good at summarizing ideas, organizing essays, presenting research, but ask me to write a poem and I will crumple.
Textbook nonhyperactive ADD, and maybe Edison Trait.
Executive function-- I don't know how much of mine is missing, but a lot.
And I don't get to talk to other likeminded folks enough.
Where do you go? Keep paying attention to yourself, keep talking to people.
...Also? I'm the local queen of public speaking. If you ever want tips or anything.
Reference du jour: joshwriting isn't a professional or anything, but he knows a lot about LD and associated problems. And he's a nice guy. He organizes a series of GT/LD conferences. Gifted-Talented/Learning Disabled. If you're in the area for the Boston one-- which isn't ever actually in Boston-- I'm going; you should totally come. Beyond IQ is the name.
It's amazing: I felt immediately at home, because everybody there understands. They are or have kids with all the same problems. Bored in class, can't sit still, and so forth. People that will talk about how many different drugs they've been on without sounding like abusers

Funny thing: I could never speak up in class until I was at MHC. Something about being in classes with all women that inspired me to learn to express myself verbally in class. Worked wonders! What a satyr I am, that I became more expressive to impress the chicks =)
