AU Background:
Half-youkai children often had harsher lives than most, especially if they were orphaned before their teens. For Watanuki, that changed when he had the ("dubious," he would say at first) good fortune of being taken in by a woman named Ichihara Yuuko, who taught him in a rather roundabout way about the old legends that his parents kept hidden from him, those things he saw that other people didn't, and those items they kept back at the caravan, in that room no one else is allowed to go in for all the story telling, fortune giving, and charm making that went on in the carriage.
Yuuko disappeared when Watanuki was eighteen, leaving him with their caravan and his fox spirit guardian, Mugetsu, who had formerly served Watanuki's mother, a kitsune. With the fervent hope that his caretaker was still alive, he resumed her old post as the Guardian of sacred treasures (except that part's a secret) and continued to travel as they had once done in search of her.
He likes telling stories to children and makes charms and fortunes for the right price.

Fighting Style: He doesn't have one either, but he has Mugetsu, a pipefox [read: white furry snake thing that used to live in a pipe] who can turn into a nine-tailed kitsune that spits fire and tears apart at anything that threatens Watanuki.
