I have to agree. I use it only to make prayer shawls knit in garter stitch. It makes a very soft shawl though.

If you would like more I have more at home I can send you. ;)

Gods no. I'm only using it because one of the co-op moms gave me a skein and asked me to make her a toilet roll cover with it. She was all enthusiastic about the yarn because it so closely matched her decor. /me rolls eyes If it was normal yarn this would be a one-night project but this stuff is so nasty I keep having to start over. I keep trying bigger hooks, I may try knitting next though crochet would be easier. I has so little stitch definition with the texture and variegation that I am having trouble figuring out where the stitches are.

Its scratchy as hell IMO too. Ugh.

Word.

I have to say I've found it harder to knit with acrylic than to crochet, because of the lack of stretch. So perhaps a bigger hook is the better way to go.

I'm actually working on a simple stockinette scarf for Pete using this stuff. It is rather annoying -- I'm using 11's but I wish I'd picked my 13's instead. It is quite soft once it's done.

That stuff splits and frays and won't keep a knot to save my life. But it works like crazy with a big ol' crochet hook, and is machine washable. So if I'm making little girl ponchos or blankets, it's my first choice. Otherwise, I pass on by.
