Dear Yuletide

The only thing you really need to do is write me a story.

That’s it.

I’m grateful beyond belief to receive a story written just for me. I will love anything you write, so don’t worry about a thing. I’ll take any rating, from G to NC-17. Include any other canon characters you like or make up some of your own.

Donald Strachey Mysteries - Richard Stevenson.

I’m a big fan of both book and movie universes, but the bookverse boys have captured my heart. Donald and Timothy are brilliantly flawed characters whose relationship is based on love and respect and a healthy dose of snark. I enjoy their intellectual banter, Donald’s situational ethics and Timothy’s Jesuit nagging.

I’d enjoy receiving a holiday-themed story, perhaps one that has them getting away from Albany (or failing to get away) for Christmas. I’d love to see how they spend Christmas Day or Christmas Eve.

If you have your own idea for a story, holiday-based or not, please go for it. Seriously, I’ll be happy with anything you write.

Donald Strachey Mysteries - movies.

The movie versions of Donald and Timothy are quite different from the books, but that just gives us more canon to love. Once again, a holiday-themed story would be appreciated, but you can go in any direction you like. The one thing I really don’t want to see is either one cheating on the other. Bookverse Don is a first-rate philanderer in the early books, but movieverse Don is a faithful man.

Breakfast with Scot.

This little movie is one of my favorites. Sam and Eric prove opposites attract, and throwing Scot into the mix adds to the fun. You can write a holiday story for the entire family, or you can just focus on the relationship between Sam and Eric. I’d enjoy a story about how Sam and Eric first met or one that puts them in the middle of a misunderstanding. If you have another idea, go ahead and follow your muse. This tiny fandom needs more stories, and I’m sure yours would be a welcome addition.

Hot Fuzz.

I can’t tell you how much my family enjoys this movie. Every character is so well drawn and makes up part of a cohesive, hilarious whole. I know only a few characters could be nominated, but I give you leave to use any that you want. I like stories that slash Danny and Nicholas and/or the Andes, but gen if fine, too. I enjoy reading stories told in the voice of Doris. Any story told from the viewpoint of one of the minor characters (the vicar, Joyce, Tom) would be fine as well. You can go dark, humorous, sexy - any direction you like. By now you know I like holiday stories, and that would be fine here, but that’s not mandatory.

Have fun!
