Charlie Parker series

It took me a while, but I'm finally diving into the Charlie Parker detective series by John Connolly. He's on the library shelf right below Michael Connelly, who hasn't yet seen fit to write me another Mickey Haller story ( Read more... )

I love Charlie Parker!! I got to know him in Ireland. ^^ There's a book that's almost exclusively about Angel and Louis. I own it, but it's at
my parents' place just now (I think) and I can't remember the title... ^^; I think it's The Reapers.

Also, check out The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly. Not a Charlie Parker novel, but so, so good and bittersweet.

Yay! Another fan!

The library had "The Reapers" so I checked it out but first made myself read the book that precedes it. I'm glad I did. It told me so much about Angel (poor guy) and his reasons for doing the things he does. I'm hoping to find out more about Louis in "Reapers."

I'll check out the other book, too. Thanks for the rec! <3

:D Yup! I should really start to read these in order; so far, I've only read The Unquiet and The Reapers... ^^; Yes, the focus is on Louis there. So I have to read the other one now, because I don't know too much about Angel.

You're welcome! Promise to get back to me if/when you read it? I've literally never met another person who read it and even after 6 years, I still really wanna talk to someone about it!

Okay, now I'm going to have to find out who this author is. They're based in Maine and have gay characters = must have. Maybe I can get them through my library. :)

My library appears to have all the titles, as far as I can tell. I hogged four of them yesterday, but I'll return one today since I just finished it.

The killers in these books are crazy and psycho and disgusting. I'm not quite used to that, but I'll press on!

The stories take place in Maine and other parts of the country, but Maine is very prominent.

You're not... near me, are you? No, no, you couldn't be, because A) there are no other m/m fans in Maine, and B) you wouldn't reference Stephen King if you were from Maine. (Okay, maybe you would. ;))

It's an "M" state - Michigan.

My spouse has an excellent Stephen King collection.

Haven't read these yet but will look into it. I did just read (again... sigh) the three Kevin Connor mysteries. Kevin is a 5'3" (as was I) blond blue-eyed high priced male prostitute (don't match any of that...), so there is a LOT of humor and some odd and kinky goings on along with the murder mystery. Author: Scott Sherman Unfortunately, there is no clue that there may be any more.

I'll check those out.

I really hate it when a series ends, especially if there's no apparent reason. That happened with "Cowboy Blues," a promising start to a series that never materialized. So, I wrote fic for those boys because they needed it.
