I use acrylic yarn all the time. I save that special expensive kind of small and very treasured projects :) No shame at all in substituting affordable yarns.

And OMG that owl is SO CUTE!!

That owl is so darling I can't stand it.

A lot of acrylics are a far cry from the Red Heart my mother used so many years ago. Well, even Red Heart products have improved, too.

All of those projects are wonderful though I really love the idea of the owl as a doorstop and the scarf with the heart pattern.

Sadly, the heart pattern didn't work out on the yarn I was using, but I'm going to try again with some lighter-weight stuff.

Someone needs to design a cat doorstop.

Hopefully a different yarn will make it more workable.

I would totally pay someone I know who knits into making a cat doorstop for me.
