In everything give thanks!

I worked out today! Yay! I am so thankful that I am able to do that again, though of course I must be careful not to overdo it. I don't want to regress from my healing progress. Speaking of being thankful, that is what my devotional was about today. Giving thanks to God no matter what your circumstances are. I thought I'd share with anyone and ( Read more... )

It is so true that we take so many things for granted and there are so many blessings to be counted. I can definetly relate to what you're saying and I don't think I nearly try to count my blessings as much as I should, but I try to. Because in the end a lot of us just have it so good and there are always things we should be thankful for and yeah, for myself, I really want to stop taking things for granted as much. Though of course we're all allowed to complain every now and then, don't you forget that either ;)

Right. We do forget to count our blessings. And practicing the art of not taking things for granted will take a lifetime but it is something I also want to master :) It makes life so much sweeter. And I do agree that we're human and so we get to complain from time to time. I know I can't stand it when someone is so "blessing" conscious that you can't do anything without a "OMG, how can you not finish that? There are children starving in other countries" or the "how can you think of vacationing in the Bahamas when there are people dying in Iraq?" It's like are the people gonna stop dying in Iraq if we don't vacation? So yea we get to complain and not be such a "blessings" Nazi ;p

There are many things we take for granted because we have an abundance of them, when people in other countries would think they were wealthy if they had them.
This is so true and it is one of those things which is so easily forgotten as me get caught up in our day to day lives. It often takes a disaster on the news or a magazine article etc to remind us just how easy our lives are compared to others. I think this is why when people get bogged down in minor issues I try and give them some perspective...because things could pretty much always be a lot worse. And as you say we have a lot to be thankful for.

I want to do things that make other people happy, even if it will bring me out of my comfort zone.
This would make such a wonderful new years resolution!! :)

Seriously! It's a crying shame. Things can always be much worse that is why I try to make it a point to be grateful for the little as much as the big.

It would wouldn't it? I'll do my best to fulfill it, though knowing me it is the easiest thing for me to do. I love volunteer work and doing things for the less fortunate through my church...
