The one about never giving up

Mar 07, 2010 20:28

And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

- Galatians 6:9
No matter how bad the condition of your life or your circumstances, don't give up! Regain the territory the devil has ( Read more... )

The quote(s) really spoke to me because I'm also in a situation where I'm struggling to keep going at the moment, so thank you for that, I totally felt indirectly encouraged ( ... )

Good I'm glad :D I don't like to keep things like this to myself it's just too good :) I hope whatever you are going through will get sorted out in due time. I'll keep you in my prayers for that.

That's awesome they do that in your church as well. I think it is just such a brilliant thing to do. Somethings you can't pray away or pray for on your own, you need others to pray for you as well. Just like it says in Matthew 18:19 “Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.” Of course the Holy Spirit has to agree that what you are both agreeing on is for your own good and necessary but still it is good to have the prayer of others. Prayer is a powerful thing and I've had prayers that has changed me too and I hope the one I received yesterday is going to be another one of those :)

Sometimes I wish I have such an open channel with God like that too, so that I'd always know what He wants or what to do nextMe too! I've had God speak to me before in terms of ( ... )

I believe that is how I miss the mark by not knowing or being confident in the Word as much as I'd like to be. Does that make sense? I mean I go to church, hear the Word, read it and even pray it but I still have a long way to go before I am a full and mature Christian. I know I am out of the baby stages (of Christianity) but I think I've been stuck in the adolescent stage for too long and it's about time to move out of that stage and become an adult.

I'm definitely with you on this. I've been hovering just beyond that baby stage for the longest time now, but sometimes it's so hard just to push yourself further. I'm gonna be totally honest and admit that laziness is mostly the factor here - it's what keeps me on the comfort zone and enjoy the status quo - but I also know that I'm far from reaching that level I probably should have reached.

We can both work on this together, at least :) I'm sure us meeting was totally not a coincidence ;)

that sounds beautiful, the whole prayer thing. I'm very happy it happened that way, for whatever reason it did, it's a lovely sign :) That woman kicks ass ! I so suck at comforting people (even though you were not asking for comfort, you know what I mean) and I can't pick up on someone's trouble when they are directly in front of me, I need to not be affected by their direct obvious pain, otherwise I'm just speechless and useless. So kuddos to her for hitting it right on the head! It's great your pastor is inspirational. I actually want to church three or four weeks ago, it was the first time ever that I chose to go to church (I went as a child for baptism and christmas celebration, and weddings, etc, but never went on my own because I wanted to) and it was so, uh, meaningless. I really needed to thank God for Snoepje and I, regardless of how much I believe or do not believe, and I just thought it'd mean more if I made the effort of going to a church because I really don't like churches. I mean I don't hate them, but I don't believe ( ... )

That does sound like an absolutely wonderful church service and just an amazing experience. Just. It seems so special that she knew exactly what to say and that she prayed for you like that and I can only imagine how emotional that must've gotten you. I'm so glad to hear that she could give you comfort like that and well, that she prayed for you of course ( ... )

Haha. I won't change it, promise. I am totally in love with this layout and it is going to take something incredibly special to make me switch it out. That or boredom, which has not happened yet (could be close though...)

or it is really a layou you'd like. :)
Apparently you can read me like a book :) I love that! Thanks for the link I have it memed already at my gym_nasty account but not here (and I always try to use the best layouts here not so much there) so done and done!

My mom loves Joyce Meyer and has gotten me to read and listen to some of her stuff, and I think she's very encouraging. Her whole concept of taking back our own thought processes and not letting the enemy use them against us... well, I'm not going to be all dramatic and say it changed my life, but it really did change the way I see myself. Anyway, I'm really glad you posted that quote.

It sounds like you belong to an awesome church! And how amazing is it when God is like, "Guess what, I love you so much that I'm going to put My words in this woman's mouth to be prayed over you." (!!)
