Author's note: I broke my promise. This chapter doesn't have 1000 words. Sorry. Anyways, read and comment on this story. Hallio doesn't have many readers, so, yeah, check it out. It's a good story.

„So, no one responded?“ Catherine asked.
It was Sunday in the afternoon, Mia and her best friend, Catherine Parker, were sitting at a table. The café bar in which they were in was a quiet little place. The owners were nice people and were always polite to all of their customers. The moment you walked into it, you could tell they really cared about it. Every piece of furniture was carefully picked and fit perfectly into the whole bar. The tables were round and made of white wood with a small but beautiful red rose on the middle of them; the chairs were made to fit the tables. The cups and all of the other set was black with red letters displaying the name of the bar on it. There was a small, old-fashioned jukebox in the corner, and no one really said something against the music it played. Even the haters of that kinda music had to agree it fit into the atmosphere of the bar and added that little special touch into it all. There were no staff; the owners did all the work. They practically spend all of their time working in or on that little bar. They were a married couple in they’re 60’s, both retired. Mia and Catherine were loyal customers of their’s for five years now. It was their tradition to meet up in this café bar and tell each other what happened to them over the week. They went to college together, and were just those kinda people you pass by in the hallway; you’re aware of their existences but don’t ever bother to find out more about them. But when Benjamin broke it off with Mia, they became fast friends and built up an amazing friendship that lasted for years. Everyone pretty much abandoned on Mia the second the news of her pregnancy spread around. Mia was incredibly hurt by that. Were they all just lying in her face and pretended to be her friends for all this years, just because of Benjamin and his social status? Worst yet, how did she not see it coming? How did she not become aware of all of that years before the truth actually surfaced out for everyone to see? Catherine was the only one who was always on her side and who stood up for her. She would never know how much Mia was actually grateful about that. Two years ago, when they both finished college, they drifted apart a bit, due to their jobs, Blair and Catherine’s boyfriend. Mia hoped she would see them get married soon. She knew how much love they possessed for one another.
Mia nodded her head, taking a sip of her coffee. She had just told Catherine about the strange phone call she received the night before.
Catherine laughed lightly while she grabbed Mia’s hand and squeezed it, „Mia, this is America. There’s millions of people everyday who contact and call other people. Did you ever consider the possibility it was just a wrong number? That kinda stuff can happen, y’know.”
„Well,” Mia started, biting hard on her lower lip, in embarrassment. „No… But how come the person who called hung up when I answered?”
„Because he heard your voice and immediately guessed he must’ve called the wrong number as he doesn’t know anyone with a voice that sounds like yours?”
„Oh.” Mia blinked.
Catherine laughed at Mia’s poor tries to destroy any valid point Catherine made. She was always a bit dramatic. „I’m telling you, it was just a wrong number. There’s many numbers out there and everyone can dial a wrong one every now and then, can’t they?”

„Mommy?” Blair whispered, half asleep.
„Yes, sweetie?” Mia asked, soothing her daughter’s hair.
„I forgot to tell you... you got a letter,” the little girl said, yawned and immediately fell asleep.
Mia smiled at Blair, got up from the bed, tucked her in, kissed her forehead, turned off the light, whispered “Sweet dreams” and quietly closed the door of her daughter’s bedroom. She headed to her bedroom and saw a white envelope on her dresser. She teared the envelope, only to find a white paper in it. There was nothing written on it. Mia even turned the paper to see if the other side had anything on it. No, nothing. The paper was completely blank. She looked at the handwriting which wrote down her address. She couldn’t recognize it. Shivers went down Mia’s spine. How will Catherine explain this?
