Musings on 28DL

A few months ago, some friends of mine and I spontenously had a "bardic circle".  We went over to someone's house to comfort them, with the intention of watching a movie, but ended up reading poetry and short stories instead.  We have done the same thing more intentionally almost every week since, integrating our own original poetry, prose and ( Read more... )

What frightened me most is the soldiers' reactions, particularly how they were not only willing to rape both females but that one female was what? 13 years old? I love men but I also know what lies in the backs of their minds and should something like 28 Days Later ever happen, rape would skyrocket. We all need our own personal Jims to protect us. Mmm... :)

Hannah was 14, I think; and I agree, the true monster of the movie is human evil.

Our own personal Jim to protect us, huh? Hmm....
*smiles*
*smacks own hand for naughty thoughts*

PS - reading "Once a Wolf". I have two chapters to go, BTW. I love the way you brought Snape back in, where Remus has to deal with him in spite of being betrayed by him; and I like the fact that you've created an original character instead of just slashing him with Sirrius like everyone else.

Kiddies aren't of legal age untill they are 16 over there so 14 is well beneath that age of consent. That part of the movie angers me but makes me happy simultaneously (ambivalent, aren't I?) because it was unafraid in showing the mindset of the male side of the human race.

I suppose you have the monopoly on your own personal Jim (forget the personal Jesus that Marilyn Manson sings about, right?) I reckon I will need to settle for either Silas or Remus. (Don't tell Silas: I prefer Remus! Silas is dangerous in that he follows so blindly!)

Do me a favour, luv, and leave some reviews for Once a Wolf over there? Like I said, it is my baby project and I don't get much feedback. If you like, just put what you just told me in a review. It looks nice for Remus! :) We must pet and nurture Remus!

And thanks for the readership; it is always a good thing! Hopefully I will be posting new OaW and HaG soon. Life is kicking me in the arse again and I don't have much time for my stories, fan fic or original. LIFE SUCKS!!!

28 Days Later and its counterpart (28 Weeks Later) are the scariest movies I have ever seen. I was thoroughly terrified of 28DL because of all the reasons you said, and 28WL had me in tears. I think you're really going to like 28WL.
