Update on life and work and . . . stuff

So, it's been a while since I've posted and thought some of you might be interested in an update.

I went to work at Pizza Hut . . . for one shift.  That's right.  I worked for 4 hours.  When I left, I just felt . . . exhausted.  The idea of going in there after already working a full-shift made me want to cry.  When I went home, I washed my uniform (I had spent 3 hours on the computer, doing training modules and the last hour doing dishes) and put it in a bag.  I was scheduled for 13 hours my first week and I saw the schedule for the week after, where I was scheduled for close to 21 hours.  I just couldn't do it.  There was no way I was going to be able to make myself do it.

So, let's go back to the day I started at Pizza Hut.  When the owner of the hotel that I work at came in after lunch, I said, "I want to tell you before you hear it from someone else.  I got a second, part-time job at Pizza Hut.  It's only supposed to be 12 hours a week, in the evening, so it won't interfere with the hotel."

He got this look on his face, like he was offended.  "Why didn't you ask me?"

Um . . . "Ask you what?  I already work 40 hours a week!"

So the next day, I asked him if he was still willing to give me extra hours (under the table . . . we'll see how that goes) and he didn't hesitate when he told me yes.  I told him that I was taking him up on it.  And then he proceeded to tell me that I could take as many extra hours as I wanted and that I could stay late on some days and get the stuff done for the hotel that I can't get done when I'm the only one here.

So far, so good.  I picked up the evening shift last Sunday and then came back in on Monday morning.  So I only have Wednesday off this week.  I think I'm going to pick up an extra shift every other week or so.  For now.  He was talking about getting rid of two of the front desk clerks for a few different reasons and I think he's expecting me to pick up some of the slack.  I don't know about all that, but we'll see what happens.

I don't want to go to bowling tonight.  I joined a league back in late August and it's EVERY TUESDAY night.  I don't want to go.  And the weather seems fine here in Western PA, so I can't even hope that it gets canceled because of some sort of storm.  I wanna sleep.  And I have to go look at a car tonight - a 2012 PT Cruiser in blue.  If I like it, I'm thinking about calling it the TARDIS, because they look bigger on the inside . .. get it?

I'm a geek.

NANO starts on Thursday.  I have a few ideas, but nothing solid.  We'll see.

How's everyone else doing?
