But Pan had trained him, her student- and here was the first tangible result! A new pokémon! Pan ran through the tall grass to scoop it up. "You did a good job too, Saimin," she told the Bagon generously. "Hmph! Now that you're finally listening to my advice…" Admittedly, training was more difficult than she'd imagined it would be, possibly in part because the little dragon wasn't being trained in martial arts. But she was getting the hang of it!
With a sudden smile- sincere and unforced- she held the ball close and turned to Saimin again. "Hey, hey, let's go meet him properly and say hello! Oh, oh, and turn on the recorder so everyone can see how great I- we are!"

So Pan released her new catch- a Weedle. It shuddered at Pan and Saimin's toothy grins, but lowered its head, ready for a fight. Pan kneeled down quickly. "No, no! You're my student now! No stinging! I'm your master and you're my pupil- and Saimin is your upperclassman! So we'll be friends- hey, I said no stinging!" Pan's uncharacteristically friendly expression melted into something more cross. The Weedle, cowed, stops preparing an attack. "That's better! Now… what am I going to call you?"

( the scene clicks on as pan's bagon pushes the button; when he clears away you can see pan squatting in front of a wary looking weedle. ) Now… what am I going to call you? How about… hm… maybe… ( she leans her head back, staring up at the sky. ) I've got it! Phở! ( she grins triumphantly. ) From now on, your name is Phở! ( and then her stomach rumbles very loudly and her face falls. ) Ahh, I could really go for some right now…

( oblivious to her weedle's distress, pan flops back dramatically onto the grass and wails: ) Pan hasn't eaten in two days!
