It doesn't. It's just one of those things here that is.

Dragon type and Bug type.

Okay, Dragon type is resists fire, water, grass, and electric type moves and it does more damage than usual against... Dragon type? How is that supposed to work? Anyway, it's obvious weak against Dragon type moves, but also Ice types.

Bug type resists fighting, ground, and grass type moves. It does more damage against grass, psychic, and dark type pokémon. But it's weak against flying, rock, and fire types.

Actually, some of it does make sense. Bugs kinda easily get crushed by rocks and eaten by birds back home.

... Though I have no idea how they can resist fighting type moves.
