there are new studies coming out saying that our sodium intake really doesn't matter as long as you're eating a healthy diet. the only thing you have to watch is the caloric intake on some of the prepackaged items. :)

soup: 240 (50 from fat, but i don't eat the chicken pieces anyways; they're always too fatty)
ramen noodles: 290 (100 from fat. what the hell makes this stuff so high in fat? aside from the fat calories, it also has a dozen grams of fat. *sigh*)
rice noodles: 260 (25 from fat, probably from the oil that i don't put in the noodles anyway; i just use the seasoning)

I guess that's good if I eat only that and maybe some carrots for lunch. A fifth of my caloric intake for one-fourth of my meals for the day. (i say fourth because i'm including stuff i might nibble on after supper.)

I've heard sodium is linked to cholesterol tho, but I guess that bit about "a healthy diet" counteracts any scary stuff. Plus I drink a lot of water, especially at school. ^_^

Thanks for bringing caloric/fat intake to my attention, Colleen. I need to keep a closer watch on it.
