Jake was not happy with the Superbowl. Not one bit. It was hard enough for him that his Eagles weren't playing, but the game was complete shit. Each team was just throwing flag after flag, making it a more technical game than....a gameThe only good thing about the night? Grace was there with him. He'd done his best to entertain her. Grace had had a few beers at this point, and she was a snuggly drunk. She couldn't help it. She leaned in to Jake without thinking, resting her head on his shoulder and curling in closer.

"It's the Cardinals, honey. I don't see them getting better anytime soon."

Okay, he'd been really good with the whole relaxed-around-Grace thing all night. Maybe the beers and game had been of help, but that didn't help him. He felt his cheeks warm up with her so close and he sighed. He leaned back against the couch. "But it's the damn Steelers," he grumbled. He tried to not think about putting an arm around her. "They're bastards."

"I know. I know," Grace sighed. "I hate the Patriots. But sometimes, we have to take our lumps, ya know?"

He sighed. "Yea yea I know. Ain't even worth it." He threw his hand dismissively at the TV and shut it off, not even wanting to hear discussion of the game. His arm fell back down, but fell on the couch just behind her back.
