What's the proper term for explaining the plot afterwards, in case the viewer didn't get it.

I have vague memories of a show (can't even remember if it was British or American) in which a bunch of young people solved a mystery each episode. Each episode ended with a sort of epilogue in the group's headquarters/den/clubhouse, where they would explain the plot to each other (and thus, the audience)... "but he couldn't possibly seen that happen because there was a power cut that evening and the street lights were out..." "And then I wondered, because when he signed into the building, he used his right hand..." "... he couldn't possibly be a real gambler because he said that he beat the other guy's straight flush with a full house..." Can't remember the name of the show, but for some reason, seem to remember there was a dog in it.
