It's a good idea. Wing injuries can be devastating and they're fairly fragile. There's the smithy, though I also know of another woman offering to make armor.

Armor isn't really my specialty, but I work with it sometimes. As for the armor just for wings... I just adjusted mine so my wings could go inside. It's kind of easier for us to do that, since our wings are so small.

I can't imagine that it would be all that difficult to armor them somehow. My power suit is here; the wings aren't very big, they fit into it well enough.
