Aw, this was really lovely. I could see the Doctor thinking this - shame on him for treating Martha that way. Heartbreaking, but that's what makes their relationship so interesting.

I've actually been looking for a fic to recommend to a friend of mine who was hoping I'd find her a Ten/Martha fic that would sell her on the idea of the pairing. She likes them together, but not to the level that I do (she has a leaning toward Ten/Rose actually). But she's not really invested in any one pairing. I think this would be a good fic to have her read. Or I'll have to do some more digging. LOL

You're welcome. I liked how in canon this one-shot was, which is always a plus. I'm not sure what exactly my friend is looking for...something about a "definitive" Ten/Martha fic. I think I may just compile a few and see how it goes. It's harder than expected. But I think she'll appreciate this one. :-)

*blush* Thank you for the compliment. :-) She's read most of my fics, but she's looking for something different. Most of the time actually, she tells me I should be nicer to Tom. Not quite working out, but it's because of her that I try to write Rose fairly. Though I just can't fathom putting the Doctor and Rose together in a fic with Martha in it. I would feel like I'd be betraying Martha. :-(
