My favourite English translations of Baudelaire are by Stanley Lombardo. I'll try to find his rendition of A une passante, if I can.

Thank you so much... that was beautiful. I haven't read much Baudelaire in English, let alone in its original form. Admittedly, I'm suprised by how little I struggled with it.

As for books, I've got a bunch I should lend if you're interested. Soon as we're both unpacked and settled in.

Chess too, at some point. :)

Glad you enjoyed the Baudelaire. He is one of my absolute favourite French poets.

I've made it my goal to read at least 15 minutes every day. In the last three days, I've read for nearly two hours. I'm quite pleased with myself.

Yes, we must get together for chess. I haven't played in months.

Good for you! I've been reading like a fiend lately, due to the daily commute which sucks two hours out of my day. The only thing I need to watch out for is that I don't get so drawn into a book that I miss my stop!
