I have been remiss in my posting, so this will be a catch-all post.
1) Moving sucked, I've recapped it to a few people but here it is in short: the movers basically fucked me, showed up at 7pm after initially promising a 1-5pm window and then didn't even call to let me know that they would be late -- after I called them, they told me it'd be 6pm and then by 7pm they were slow and unmotivated AND balked at moving my TV, which was 90% of the reason I wanted movers. It cost me $350 and then I had to pay another mover $200 just to move my fucking TV.
Moral of the story: Never use Starving Students. Mountain Movers of Seattle, however, rocked. Use them instead (and a three man crew with them is only $40/hr more than a 2 man crew with Starving Students).
2) I'm almost all moved in now, my bar (as posted) is insane. My bar tools are rapidly coming in (I have a garnish tray and glass rimmer already, my Bullet shaker and vermouth sprayer are at work, I picked up 4 cocktail glasses a couple days ago and my crystal scotch glasses should be here on Monday). I've been unpacking like crazy tonight and breaking down boxes like a motherfucker.
3) I bought a microwave and it turned out to be more hassle than buying a goddamned car. First, I decided to go with a Kenmore based on Consumer Reports. The one that they recommended was impossible to find locally due to a good sale, so I opted for a similar stainless steel model. Ordered it online and opted to pick it up in store, only to have Sears call me to confirm the credit card 4 hours after ordering (and I didn't order until 4:45pm b/c I wanted to pick it up right after work, schedule permitting). So that sucked. I finally went in and got it yesterday, unpacked it, set it on my counter and noticed that it wasn't balanced evenly. It wasn't a missing rubber foot or anything normal, the actual metal casing on the bottom wasn't seated properly and I couldnt' do it without unscrewing the damned thing and voiding any warranty.
So today I loaded it into my car (fucking thing won't fit in my trunk) and took it back and now I have a working microwave. Hooray.
4) Apparently I'm on the worst kickball team of all time. No Shutout! got shutout again on Wednesday, this time to the tune of 8-0. I fucked up myself this week, I had a couple errors that basically allowed 2-3 runs to score. Not the margin of defeat (and I did reach base and make it to second once, which is better than almost anyone else did). So yeah, we're 0-4 with two games left and have been outscored 45-2. Wow, just wow.
5) The pretty girl from kickball has a boyfriend that she totally is better than. Also he pissed next to me in the urinal and didn't even give a token rinse. And then he shared our nachos.
However, she did seem to like me a bit (which of course means a damned thing). Anyway, I was the only one that laughed at some of her jokes, so I think I get points for that. So suck it, Mr. Clean. It's called handsoap, look into it.
6) Today was a pretty good day (despite me having to use my AK). Didn't work too hard, wasted a lot of time on IM talking to someone that I've been wanting to talk to for awhile (HEH), had a 90 minute lunch followed by an hour bullshitting in the warehouse and then came home and was moderately productive. The downside is mainly that I'm unpacking and screwing around with a microwave on Cinco De Mayo, but I'll deal with it.
Oh, and I also benched 180 today, so that's cool, most I've ever done (although I haven't been doing straight bench presses in awhile -- the last time I did was in HS and then I was lucky to do 140). So yeah, benching just over my weight, that seems about right for now.
