Yeah, it's looking that way. Sadly, I don't really have any extra money to put into that. I wonder if I have a shoebox around I can just keep my money in.
Yeah, my bank doesn't do that, just offers overdraft protection through another account. Which would be fine, if I had any money in there, or money to put in there, but I don't.
Yeah, I'm looking to see if it's not impossible to get an overdraft credit right now, cuz while I possibly could put 25 or so in my savings, I don't know if that would cover everything.
when i open a new account i always call them and tell them to take "overdraft protection" off the checking account... that way when if i try to use money that's not there it gets declined rather than charging me $30 for overdrafting... i came up with this solution after a misunderstanding about when a check would post cost me $250 in overdraft fees... (it would have been closer to $500, but i went to the bank manager and cried...)
i suppose being allowed to overdraft has advantages (maybe if you use lots checks?) but i prefer not to give them the option of charging me crazy overdraft fees... i almost never use checks, i use online bill pay and my bank card for everything...
there are also banks that have the option of overdrafting to your saving account for a small fee, like $5... you need both a checking and savings account (with money in it) for this, so i don't have it... my mum does and she likes it...
See, my problem is I *do* use a lot of checks, and I have nothing in savings right now. So I feel like I'm kinda screwed there. And about 90% of my money goes to bills, so I can't afford to not have an overdraft protection either. I should prolly look into that online bill pay thingy, I just have no idea how that works.

you need to put some sort of overdraft protection on your account.

there is a nominal fee and interest charged to the overdraft balance.
