A month ago today, i.e. Thursday 26 May, I gave a lecture to mark World Dracula Day in Bradford ( LJ / DW). Since then, my life has managed to unfold with immense intensity on almost all possible fronts - generally with very good results, but it's just been A Lot. wooooo hooo! I was seeing the pictures in costume and telling myself "wow, she is looking GORGEOUS all right!"

Thank you about the pictures of me. As for him - I know, right?? Like, how on earth have I bagged this guy who a) is gorgeous b) shares lots of common interests with me and c) is just genuinely really nice and kind and thoughtful, all without even remotely meaning to? Really just can't believe my luck, TBH!

I read this agog, because I am very nosey about other people's lives, and very much cheering you on. How nice of the universe to throw this your way, and how brave of you to take up the offer! (He is indeed hot, and yay that it's paired with a nice personality too.)

And damn, getting messages from Ben Aaronovitch is very cool indeed. And the party outfits, wow!

Thank you! The Georgian event was indeed amazing. My friend Anna does this regularly, making her own dresses and travelling around the country to different events with a circle of similarly-minded people, so I've been seeing her pictures of it for years and wishing I could join in. It was fabulous to get the chance!

Thank you! Yes, we are continuing to get along really well thanks. This last weekend has been pretty intensive, as it was the Goth City festival which he runs, so he had a lot of hard work and a fair bit of stress on for four days on the trot. But he handled it really well, and I think I've built up a lot of good girlfriend points by being supportive along the way! Which, to be clear, he had totally earned by being really supportive of my work already too. So we're doing good, and can thankfully now relax a bit and have a more normal weekend next weekend!
