Sounds like generalized anxiety disorder. The non-med route to treat that is cognitive behavioural therapy which will be a 10-12 week class in a group setting where you learn to slow down your thought processes and work through them in a methodical way. After a while and practicing, you learn to think that way automatically. Group classes always suck, but I'll admit it took my anxiety in a mall for example, from a base level 8 out of 10, down to about a 6 or 7. It's not a magic cure, just a tool you can use.
