Wolves! If that had been me, I'd have probably tried to hug them...

Are they normally this small? I know that our wolves back home have started breeding with coyotes because they are becoming so rare, and now these little coyote wolves are wandering around like hyenas.

Nah, from the other two shots that he sent me, I'm not convinced these little dudes are fully-grown yet. (Either that or they're crossbreeding out here too. O_O We've got plenty of coyote/dog and wolf/dog mixes running around the local reserve up there, so it wouldn't be such an impossible thing, I imagine!)

That would be interesting; I always thought it was mostly an eastern Canada thing. It'd be a little troubling if wolves weren't even able to survive in what is a more appropriate environment! Because, as you know, to breed with a coyote a wolf has to come down in the world and they are ashamed.

Hee! "Oh, wolf-bro, slumming again? You should be ashamed!" Here, let me upload the other two pictures so we can judge whether they're just pups at the teenage stage or a crossbreed...

Just by Highway 1A at the edge of Kananaskis. :) Pretty bustling picnic area in the summer, so hopefully they'll find somewhere a bit more secluded before the tourists come back!
