Seriously, Meetup.com might be useful. Or joining some sort of hobbyist group thing, which it is likely that you will find out about through the internet

So, go to Meetup up and look for Greenville, NC, within 25 miles. And then you see if you want to go to any of those, other than the gamer's group.
