Are you American? Tell me...

Do you play conkers in America? They're also known as horse chestnuts. It's a game where you skewer them, put string through them, and then have battles.

I have a related story to tell, but it won't mean anything unless you know what I'm talking about.

I've been trying to explain conkers to my American friends, but none of them seem to know what they are, even when I show them. Best to explain exactly what a conker is before telling the story.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Whoever's conker breaks loses.

Hmmm...I've been American for a whole lotta years, my entire life actually, and at 41 I have never heard of this.
I have heard the term horse chestnuts, but it referred to something completely different. :P
Must be one of those obscure northeastern autumn pass-times. hehe
