Been trying to figure out how to post about this. Most of you know that I have been in the battle to get on permanent disability for the last year and a half. I am writing all of this out and cross posting it so I (hopefully) don't have to keep answering "have you heard yet?" questions

Oh, honey. So many *hugs*. I am . . . frankly appalled when I hear that the "system" won't help the people who so clearly need and deserve it. Since you asked, I will be sure to keep my eye out for you and poke you with texts if you seem to be disappearing. Give yourself time to grieve the outcome, but know that so many of us love and care about you. (I don't know if grieve is the "right" word, it's just the one I could think of.)

Oh, Amy. I am so, so sorry to hear this. Like Shauna said, I'm completely appalled. Also like Shauna said, give yourself time and space to grieve--this shit sucks lengthwise. Just... be gentle with yourself, okay? Love you lots and sending tons of hugs your way.

Shit, that is nuts! I hope your lawyer will have some ideas after she gets over her shock as well.
I know how awful you must feel. It's humiliating to ask for this kind of help in the first place, and then to be kicked when you're down, that's just terrible. But from my perspective, it's not you, it's them. This is not the right decision.
I can say there's a bit of retail therapy on its way to you (though MbD might not be the most .... ahh ... "cheering" band on the Earth.)
I know it costs money but if you think you can swing it for you and Olive to drive down here and stay with us for a while, doors are always open. Not literally.
Not that we're any better support than your Dad and Mommy Jane. But it would be a different view from the window.
