I'm glad I'm not the only one fixating on Downton Abbey - mmm, hot (but evil) (but hot) footman! And pretty conniving daughters!

I have scandal and intrigue to match the landed of Downton...
I've been looking at old documents and deeds for the meadow and surrounding area and came across:

"C. 4166. Certificate by John Maynwaring and John Bromley, knights, and John Dutton of Hatton, that Master Richard Pleymunde- stowe came before them at Chester and testified that the instrument to this certificate annexed was made by him without compulsion viz. that Jonet wife of John Malpas declared when lying at the point of death that Elyn and Katerine her daughters were not the daughters of the said John, but begotten in adultery by another person." Chester, 31 May, 37 Henry VI. English. Three seals."
