PoT: Mizuki Math (Yuuta/Mizuki)

Jun 21, 2008 00:49

Random idea that's not even worth trying to fix. Crappity crap crap.

F + M = Rivals
F + Y = Rivals
Therefore, M = Y

Mizuki spotted the error immediately. Fuji and Yuuta weren't actually rivals, not the way Fuji and Mizuki were. He constructed a new expression from the facts he knew.

M > Y

He paused and after much internal monologue, wrote down:

F ≥ M

He resisted the temptation to replace the ≥ with an = and moved on.

Therefore, F > Y

The logic was sound but the conclusion felt false. Yuuta might be an ordinary boy compared to his brother, but he was special to Mizuki. Much better than that niko-niko bastard.

He sighed loudly and tapped his pencil against his notebook, trying to see where he had gone wrong.

Curious at the theatrics, Yuuta came over and peeked over his shoulder.

He growled as he swiped Mizuki's mechanical pencil and crossed out the F > Y several times with dark, heavy lines, the force snapping the lead several times and indenting the pages beneath. He wrote something else beneath it.

M + Y > F

Mizuki lifted a brow. "Probable, but impossible to prove," he said regretfully. "Not without further defining F."

Yuuta wrote something else.

M > F

Mizuki loved how that looked, but it directly conflicted with the expression above.

"Not tennis," Yuuta explained. "But in other ways that matter."

Mizuki smiled as he reclaimed his pencil. He crossed out what was written in his own precise hand and wrote under Yuuta's messy scrawl:

Y > F

Yuuta hugged him from behind but Mizuki wasn't finished.

Y = ♥

M = ♥♥

Yuuta rolled his eyes in a half-fond, half-exasperated way.

M + Y = ♥♥♥

M x Y = ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

"Wait, Mizuki-san, that math is completely off--"

Mizuki pounced and went directly for Yuuta's pants. "It's a new theorem I discovered," he purred. "Won't you help me prove it?"
