I know that most of my flisters are not football fans but MNF WTF NFL!!! I can't believe what I saw last night. The Seahawks win on one of the worst calls I can ever remember. The replacement refs suck...

I guess because a lot of people don't have cable, so they air it on ABC too. They actually do that quite a bit, and although they showed Dancing With the Stars later that night, they normally air Castle the following Saturday. It just sucked this time because it was the premiere.
It was the Welshman's team that benefited this time around. Ironically, when it's the professionals calling the games, the Seahawks normally get kicked in the 'nads with bad calls. All that aside, I do think it's time to get the professionals back, which is going to be a hard sell due to continued viewership.
Lucky for him. I'm watching my Texans make their first legitimate run at the super bowl and I don't want it to be derailed or tainted by the replacement refs!!
Even the announcers wondered aloud if it wasn't a prestige team like the packers who were screwed would there be this much discussion about it.
Plus all this talk about the replacements refs is free publicity. How many people might tune in to see the next fight, coach tantrum at a ref or other chaos. It's like a car wreck - you can't look away
*nods* I agree. I hope that their first legit run at the SB is not tainted by messy calls.
On the one hand, I feel for the Packers and their fans. On the other, I've watched a Seahawks fan deal with crap like that multiple times in multiple seasons. Sometimes there needs to be a balancing factor. But if it were a less prestigious team losing to another less prestigious team, would there have been such a ruckus? Who knows?
It comes back to the concept that any publicity is good publicity. And people do tune in to see all of those because they like looking at the wrecks. Definitely does not help the pro refs' cause.
Well the refs are back. I think everyone knew once4 a call was made that screwed up the winner, we'd see them. Now how long until people start screaming for the replacement refs back LOL.
As for the TV audience - Most fans watched any way - they weren't happy but they didn't boycott or anything. I think without a major screw-up the real refs would have been out all season

It is quite obvious Green Bay should have won that game. It's just ridiculous.
