La de da....

Is it time to go home yet? I'm exhausted - it's been quite a week of catch up at work - and this weekend I have two parties and lunch with a friend in from London scheduled. And then there are little things like packing for my trip to Oregon (if it isn't underwater or hasn't blown away by next week) and sending off all of my Christmas gifts ( Read more... )

1) This may surprise you: I read a lot.

2) Hanging out at a bar in Bamberg, Germany drinking rauchbier.

3) Knight Rider. You can't beat the Hoff, you can only hope to contain him.

4) I suppose "the overweight escort who gave me a case of crabs" doesn't quite count, does it? At this point in my life, everyone I am on gift-giving terms with gives me things I like. I'm fairly easy: booze, drugs, books, and nice pants all make me very happy.

5) My friends and I play pickup football every year around the holidays. A few years ago we played a New Years Day game that I have very fond memories of. Everyone was in fine form and we walked off the field feeling like we'd earned our evening beers. Shortly after this, one of the guys we played with was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and died. Tucked away in my mental photo album I've got a few nice images of all of us smiling, running, and tussling on a sunny winter day.

Don't hassle the Hoff! stratfordgal December 15 2006, 19:06:13 UTC
Wow! With answers like that you may put in doubt the pretentious, womanizing frat boy image you have gone to great pains to cultivate...

I'm no Colbert: I imagine you saw through the character long, long ago.

True - but snarking at your persona keeps me entertained on boring work days such as today - so I'll continue to pretend that I buy it hook, line and sinker...

I guess saving a little of that batter would be out of the question ( ... )

I've been trying to figure out how to get some of the batter to you, although I'm also thinking knowingly distributing "coronary in a box" to others who will eat it with a spoon may be at odds with my gym going lifestyle...

5) We had a flyer growing up, but it was mostly used to transport things/people around the neighborhood when it got snowy...

Your not supposed to eat it with a spoon? How are you supposed to consume it?

That stinks, did you attach a dog to it such as a family pet or a younger sibling to pull it?

It's part of a drink!

Coronary in a Box + rum + hot water = Hot Buttered Rum

Only 1 tablespoon of the batter per drink...

I AM the youngest sibling - thanks for dredging up those memories...

1) Hide and seek. My day would ask me to hide and 3 hours later I'd creep out and find him asleep on the couch. Ahhh, memories

2) Listening to smooth jazz, drinking a bottle of wine and, true to my upbringing, falling asleep on the couch. Failing that, DVDs!

3) The Hobbit. Although, I must admit I am curious to see how Peter Jackson would redo it (assuming that he eventually winds up at the helm of the project)

4) My Uncle's ex wife (my ex-aunt?) Every year it was the same thing: a denium, button-up dress shirt. You could set your clock to the immutability of this woman's gifts.

5) Snow calligraphy. I drink a lot of hot chocolate during the holidays...

Oh, come on! We're practically the same person! I don't think one side of the coin can infringe on a copyright held by the other side...

My answers... stratfordgal December 15 2006, 21:28:35 UTC
1) Reading - a book has always been a very easy way to keep me occupied - or Puddle Jumping - that would be jumping in the puddles not over them for those not in the know...

2) Spending the day in bed with either the boy of the moment, when I have one, or a good book...

3) I'm trying to think of something they haven't remade - or aren't in the process of remaking. I'm a tad frightened by the new Transformers movie - they've updated/changed all the toys and this does not make me happy.

4) My grandmother for a while was under the impression that at the ages of 14 through 18 I would want to dress like her. Think entirely floral print outfits...

5) I still have a bump on my left tibia from a rather memorable rugby game in the snow - apparently being a cute, small girl does not exempt you from a rough takedown at the hands of a large Texan ex-high school linebacker. Aslo there was a snowtubing incident after college - too many people in one tube chain at night - we're lucky no one died...
