When I was a kid, I wasn't allowed to have toy guns. But I would have been so estatic to get a sweet tommy gun!

oh, he was beside himself. such a happy and violent christmas! haha.
it's funny because i've gone back and forth on letting max play with weapons. he wants to be a wwII soldier when he grows up...haha. so far i think it's pretty healthy and innocent. fingers crossed it stays that way.

but i never thought i'd be wrapping a tommy gun for christmas..haha

hahahaha that is amazing. How fun.
My parents and I got into it when I was little because they didn't want me to watch the power rangers. So then we had to sit down and talk about reality vrs fantasy lol... only after it was assured I knew the difference between right and wrong was I allowed to watch it! haha

I will always have it hanging at Christmas! I'd like to have it up all year, but it makes it extra special having it out only once a year. :) It's so cheery and always makes me think of you!

nothing says christmas like a big plastic gun for your small child to pretend like they're killing people with

...or like a spirited little one getting exactly what he asked santa for...and to get to use his imagination to the fullest!

i shouldn't have been so sassy but seriously i just hate guns and even more so the idea of small kids pretending and playing with them, i guess he could pretend with an imaginary gun just as well but i just can't wrap my brain around the idea that healthy play for a child could ever invovle a weapon

it's a sticky subject. and i guess one best left to each parent's discernment of their child. max loves to dress up and is in an army man/wwII phase right now...and so far i haven't seen any unhealthy fixations on it.

it's hard with boys..everything becomes a weapon..haha. they are natural protectors. i think he will grow out of this stage faster because i don't discourage it.
