Akasha's Meltdown On H&V

Jan 28, 2013 22:55

It's funny to me, Akasha, how you hide behind your fans, turn a blind eye to any responsibility for how things went down last night, and then how you ban me from responding to your barbs against me. Really classy, that.

Ugh, what should have been a really simple conversation has certainly turned into a hot mess hasn't it. This is one reason of many that I hate the internet sometimes, the lack of tone causes innocuous comments to be taken to ridiculous levels. I also find that it increases people's sense of being entitled to turn everything into a platform/soapbox for their persecution complexes, while at the same time denying other people the right to have an opinion on anything without being labelled haters. It also has the ripple effect of more people getting involved with only half the facts, especially in a forum like the SB where it can be hard to keep up with the exchange because there is other stuff mixed in, so they take a comment completely out of context & we're off on yet another half-assed trajectory. The ripple expanded w/ the move to lj without accurate representation of what happened. My opinion of the whole thing changed several times the further back I went in the archive. By the end, I felt like Ron Burgundy "Well, that ( ... )

Oh, how I adore you! Live Journal needs "like" and "share" buttons!
Thank you for sharing this with me, and with everybody who might read it, too. I did make it PUBLIC for a reason. ^_~

You're welcome. If you can find a way to share it be my guest. I adore you as well and was actually appalled at the way some of the tertiary people involved responded to you ( ... )

Several people have also said to me that they are amazed how much energy she managed to squeeze out of that "10%" available to rile everybody up and dwell on it.

For the most part, I ignore Akasha because unless you fawn all over her, she will strike at you. Plus, she likes to withhold her stories as punishment to the world at large. No loss to me, though!

Moving on ... you liked it? It's (hopefully) coherent?? :D Can't wait to get your notes back. I'm so lucky to have you as a friend! :D As for O&F, I did try to sign up this morning, but ran into a little confusion that has yet to be clarified. On the submission form they ask for prompts on what you intend to offer, as well as what you'd like to receive. Perhaps it's simply a mistake, copied from the first half, otherwise, why would any of us submit prompts if our "partner" is just going to write whatever s/he wants instead? SMH. Technically, I've signed up, but I may have to amend it lol!

Holy f*cking sh*t!

Just know that as someone who has worked with folks who have mental health issues (for 20+ yrs) that holding people accountable and requiring them to be responsible is not out of line.
A significant sign of at least one serious disorder is dumping your crap all over the place and then blaming people when they don't rescue you.

I control my feelings, reactions and behaviors. Others may say things that upset me but *I* am the person in control. So, therefore, I am responsible for my actions. Nobody makes others do anything.

SO sorry you & bunney got the brunt of that complete asshattery.

Don't forget eilowny, because she was the first person Akasha 'attacked' for offering a response Akasha did not completely agree with.

::hugs:: :)

Sigh... This was just unneeded drama caused because the initial reaction to an opinion was taken out of context and way differently than what it was intended. A suggestion was met with a firing squad.

I was away when this happened, so I read the SB messages with as much as an impartial mind as I could. And all I kept thinking was the same thing that mccargi was:

My mother has always had two bits of advice that I think would have applied nicely in this situation: Never raise your voice, improve your argument. Never resort to profanity and name calling, it displays a lack of class and a insufficient ability to articulate your thoughts appropriately.

Well said!

Unfortunately, not everyone applies such principles in life.
