I would seriously recommend talking to a doctor before taking iron supplements. While it's true that iron can help you, that's if you are deficient and need the iron... but taking too much iron can result in hemachromatosis, storing way too much iron, which happened to me when I was taking iron for my anemia. The result of that was 4-6 nosebleeds a day that lasted between 20min-1hr. and I don't mean small noseblees, I mean, head dizzy where did I get all this blood?? nosebleeds.
:| Really?! Oddly enough, I've been having weird nose issues since I remember taking it about a month ago (although the nose stuff may have started before... but they aren't really nosebleeds as much as being sensitive to touch on the outside at times). Interesting :|
I've mostly been taking it because I thought it might do something about the blue or baggish under my eyes and that whole "easier to wake up in the morning!" thing I read. :|
Yea, iron is a dangerous mineral, too much can actually poison you. And iron causes constipation. When possible, it's best to increase your iron intake through food, especially dark green leafy veggies like spinach. It's more easily absorbed.
...Which reminds me that I need to start taking my iron again, since I'm still so anemic. Bleh.
