At the same time I feel a bit disenfranchised... a bit, in between worlds.  I am deleriously happy but the people with whom I can share that are the kind of dull, boring folk whom I wouldn't have had a bar of 10 months ago.  The people who I really want to understand what this is like are still not quite there, or  maybe I wish that the people who  ( Read more... )

Transition is hard. There is no denying that. Im not a mum, but I have friends who are single mums or new to kids and have had to have a total change of life style. Lay off booze, drugs and everything else. You will find the happy medium eventually :)

I still think you are perfect. Drugs or no drugs. You have always been the same old carla to me

Thankyou babe. I am glad I have friends like you who can span the both worlds and appreciate me as a person in both of them. It really means a lot to me. You really have to come over soon, both of you, to see my bubba and me, we would love to see you xox

I think I would feel the same way, were I in your shoes. I don't have a forum, but I do have a few good blogs of women doing it the best way they can:

http://www.indiebride.com/indiemom/blog/index.html
http://redneckmother.blogspot.com/
http://www.lawyermama.blogspot.com/ (her post of 'wherein I admit I'm a bad mother' was about her taking a drink with her to the beach in a container and accidentally giving it to her kid before she realized that was the wrong bottle!)
http://www.nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/ (she's funky & cool, but totally Mormon and straightlaced)

Check out some of the listings that go along with these blogs and I'm sure you'll find someone out there in your exact same situation. :D

In time you will your feet again hun. Its like any major transition. It might be motherhood or changing r/ships or even changing jobs!! You will feel like you dont fit in for a while, but eventually everything will fall into place. What is important is that you are well, healthy and happy :)
Much Love xo

(i don't really know what you think of my mum 'lifestyle' etc but i know you don't judge me cos it's not who you are - well thats what i think anyway) and our mumness situation is fairly different but i'm here anyway if you do wanna have a random chat with anyone that might actually have some idea what you are going through :)
